To fulfill the purposes set out in the ‘basis of establishment,’ KAWA is mainly engaged in the following activities
(under Article 4 of the Articles of Association):
- 1Conducting research and study on agro-fishery wholesale market system
- 2Addressing government-related matters: raising complaints and offering feedback to advisory opinions
- 3Managing statistics on members’ operation and collecting/distributing relevant data and information
- 4Providing training courses to the employees of wholesale markets
- 5Publishing leaflets, books and KAWA’s magazine ; conducting inspection ; and holding lectures and research group meetings
- 6Encouraging producers and producer’s communities to directly release their products into wholesale markets ; and implementing a range of programs to reduce distribution costs and ensure fair trading order via listed auction system
- 7Business support services for whole sale market member corporations related to their various business models and operations
- 8Computerized information business
- 9Government-commissioned work
- 10Cooperation work with related organizations
- 11Rental business for real estate owned by the association
- 12Other business necessary to achieve the association's objectives
